CBOND2026 is the 5th European Symposium on Chemical Bonding, an international meeting organized under the auspices of the European Committee on Chemical Bonding. Hosted in Brussels, 8–11 September 2026, the symposium promotes conceptual advances in chemical bonding and quantum chemistry by bringing together leading scientists and early-career researchers for an intensive program of talks, discussions, and poster sessions.
The conference spans a broad range of topics, from fundamental concepts and state-of-the-art theoretical developments to frontier applications in molecules and materials, uniting the international chemical bonding community across theory and experiment.
The scientific program runs over four days and features invited lectures by internationally renowned speakers presenting the current state of the art. In addition, contributed talks will provide participants with the opportunity to present their research and stimulate discussion, alongside dedicated poster sessions. CBOND2026 will be preceded on Monday 7 September by a Young Researchers Symposium at the UResidence of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
We look forward to welcoming you to Brussels for CBOND2026!
