The 5th European Symposium on Chemical Bonding (CBOND2026) will take place in Brussels (Belgium), 8–11 September 2026, under the auspices of the European Committee on Chemical Bonding. Building on the tradition of the European Symposium on Chemical Bonding series, the symposium provides an international forum for discussing how chemical bonding is defined, analysed, and exploited—from conceptual foundations and modern electronic-structure theory to frontier applications in molecules and materials.
CBOND2026 brings together leading scientists and early-career researchers for an intensive program of keynote lectures, complemented by contributed talks, poster sessions, and ample time for discussion and networking across theory and experiment.
CBOND2026 will be preceded on Monday 7 September by a Young Researchers Symposium at the UResidence of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), offering early-career participants a dedicated platform for oral presentations and scientific exchange.
We look forward to welcoming you to Brussels, the capital of Europe, for CBOND2026!
