Alessandro Genoni is an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Materials, and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” at the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy). His research is primarily devoted to methodological advancements in quantum chemistry and quantum crystallography. In quantum chemistry, he develops approaches based on extremely localized molecular orbitals to mainly study large biological systems. In quantum crystallography, his work focuses on extending the X-ray restrained/constrained wavefunction method to extract meaningful wavefunctions that are consistent with high-resolution X-ray diffraction data.
