Prof. Cina Foroutan-Nejad (Institute of Organic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences) leads a theoretical chemistry group working at the interface of chemical bonding concepts, quantum-chemical topology, and functional molecular design. His research focuses on understanding and classifying bonding and reactivity using topology-based analysis methods, and on leveraging these insights to design molecular devices for electronics, including organic/molecular memristors and related “in-memory” concepts. The group also develops theory-driven strategies for smart catalysis under external electric fields and explores unusual bonding motifs and aromaticity in advanced molecular systems.
